Recipe: Summer Pleasure: Blackberry-Infused Watermelon Melon Cooler
Ingredients:
– 1 small seedless watermelon, cubed (about 6 cups)
– 4 cups honeydew melon, cubed
– 1 pound fresh blackberries
– 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, plus additional for garnish
– Juice of 2 limes
– 1/4 cup granulated sugar (optional)
– Ice cubes
– Sparkling water (as desired)
– Mint sprig, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the watermelon, honeydew melon, and blackberries: Wash all the produce thoroughly and chop the watermelon and honeydew melon into bite-sized cubes. Place them in a large mixing bowl. (See attached image of Summer Pleasure: Blackberry-Infused Watermelon Melon Cooler)
2. Infuse the fruit with mint and lime juice: Roughly chop the fresh mint leaves and add them to the bowl with the melons. Squeeze the juice of 2 limes over the mixture. Gently stir to combine and let the fruit sit for around 30 minutes to an hour to infuse the flavors.
3. Taste and adjust sweetness: After allowing the fruit to infuse, taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness according to your preference. If desired, add up to 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and stir well.
4. Serve the cooler: Fill tall glasses with ice cubes. Divide the fruit mixture equally between the glasses—a good mixture is about 2/3 melon and 1/4 blackberries. To add some effervescence to the cooler, top it off with sparkling water. Garnish with a mint sprig if desired, and enjoy!
