Title: Warm Spice & Toasty Flavor: Wholesome Wheat Flour & Clove Baked Bread Recipe
Serving: 8 slices
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons ground cloves
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 cups warm water (110°F – 115°F)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- Extra flour for dusting
METHOD:
-
Dissolve the yeast in warm water in a small bowl. Set it aside for 10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, salt, and brown sugar. Mix well.
-
Add the ground cloves to the mixture and stir until the spices are evenly distributed.
-
Pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Using a spatula or wooden spoon, mix everything together until a dough forms.
-
Place the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
-
Grease a large mixing bowl and place the dough inside. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free area for 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.
-
After the dough has risen, punch it down and then shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
-
Let the dough rise again in the loaf pan for 30 minutes to 1 hour or until it puffs up over the edges of the pan.
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and place the bread pan on the center rack. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the bread turns golden brown and sounds hollow when you tap the bottom.
-
Remove the bread from the oven and the pan. Transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice the bread into 8 or more slices using a serrated knife. Serve and enjoy the warm spice and toasty flavor of this wholesome clove wheat bread.
