– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1/4 cup sliced ginger
– 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
For serving:
– Cooked rice or noodles
– Sesame seeds (optional)
– Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish (optional)
1. Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
3. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and sliced ginger until well combined.
4. Heat oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
5. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin-side down, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes until the skin is crispy.
6. Flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute, then remove the skillet from heat.
7. Pour the prepared teriyaki-ginger glaze over the fillets, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
8. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven, and bake the salmon for 10-15 minutes or until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
9. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the salmon rest for a few minutes.
10. Serve the ginger-glazed teriyaki salmon over cooked rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds, fresh cilantro or green onions if desired.
