Title: Exploring Latin America’s Staple Root with a Flavorful Twist

Ingredients:
– 2 large yuca roots (1 lb), peeled and cut into long, thin sticks
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 tablespoon garlic powder
– 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 1 avocado, sliced
– Fresh cilantro, for garnish
– 1 lime, cut into wedges

Steps:

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, mix the yuca sticks with olive oil until evenly coated. Add garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper to taste, and toss until all pieces are well-seasoned.

3. Spread the yuca sticks on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are in a single layer and are evenly spaced.

4. Roast the yuca sticks in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Flip the sticks every 10 minutes to ensure even cooking.

5. While the yuca is roasting, mash the avocado in a small bowl and mix in a pinch of salt.

6. Once the yuca is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.

7. Serve the yuca sticks warm, with dollops of the mashed avocado on top. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve with lime wedges on the side.

8. To eat, squeeze lime juice over the yuca sticks and optionally sprinkle more of your favorite seasoning blend. Enjoy this flavorful twist on a traditional Latin American root!
